MARIE CURIE

Maria Salomea Skłodowska-Curie, known as Marie Curie, was born on 7 November 1867 in Warsaw, Poland. She was a physicist, mathematician and chemist who pioneered the field of radioactivity. Marie was not only the first woman, but also the first person to receive two Nobel Prizes in different fields: Physics (1903) and Chemistry (1911), and the first woman to teach at the University of Paris.
